JOHN 8:36 "HE WHO THE SON SETS FREE IS FREE INDEED"
1.Secret Time:Ps. 91:1 "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty"
This is the first step and the most important one! Aim to spend some quiet time with the Lord every day. This is where you will receive the strength you need to take the next 4 steps. If this isn't a daily habit with you, then start out with just a few minutes each day, soon your "secret time" will become something you can't live without.
2. Tracking: Prov. 16:3,9 "Entrust your efforts to the Lord and your plans will succeed. A person may plan his own journey, but the Lord directs his steps."
This is the step where we keep track of what we eat! Have a plan, don't eat mindlessly! Pray about the best plan for you, allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in this. You may try eating 3or4 small meals a day, 300-400 calories each for a total of 1200-1600 calories. Do whatever works for you! But make a plan and plan on sticking to it.
3.Exercise: 1 Tim. 4:7-8 "Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness, for bodily discipline profits "a little" but godliness is profitable for all things."
No one really likes to exercise! But to be healthy and fit we need to include this in our plan. Pick something you can stick to, and do it at least 3-5 times a week.
4.Peace:Phil. 4:7 "And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension will guard your hearts and mind in Christ Jesus." Col. 3:15 "Let the peace of God rule in your hearts to which you were called"
Clutter, whether it is in our home, in our minds, or our life, is what robs us of our peace! Let's de-clutter our lives! That could mean different things to each of us. More of this to follow.
5.Success:3 John 1:2 "Beloved, I pray that in all things, you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers." Josh. 1:8 "This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success."
As we absorb God's Word, memorize it, and meditate on it, we will be successful in our efforts to lose weight so that we can glorify God in our bodies which is the temple of the Holy Spirit!
